Concept, video, design and animation were all completed within 3 weeks leading up to the festival. The concept of this video was came about while I was living in Whistler, BC, one of the most beautiful places on Earth. It’s a funny place, because everyone goes there for the same reason: to live the dream.
I wanted to play on this concept and involve the audience somehow—I wanted them to share their dreams. Since I knew almost everyone in the audience would have a cell phone, I used that to my advantage, and instead of telling people to put their phones away, they were encouraged to use them.
At the end of this animation, audience members were directed to send a photo to the email provided on the connect-dream-share website. The photo would then be automatically uploaded to the mobile-specific site, allowing the audience to share their dreams with the rest of the auditorium (and whoever else was on the site), in real time.
